Default New engine

I have a 1995 2100sc bowrider that is in great shape. Unfortunately the engine was not winterized correctly and it now has a crack in the head and the block. Currently it has a 5.0 Mercruiser with Alpha 2 outdrive. Do you think it's worth fixing? I can swap motors if I could ever find a decent deal. I just wonder if it's even worth messing with. Also, what 5.7 or 5.0 engines are compatible?

A boat of that age is basically only worth the value of the engine and drive. What is the condition of the rest of the boat? Are you happy with the boat and are you interested in another?

If you paid to have a rebuilt long block installed it would cost about $5K.

Yes the 5.0 and 5.7 are interchangeable from a bolt in view.

Did the exhaust manifolds also crack?
