Default Need help with 70 force

Hey all! I have a 1992 1700XR with a 70 force on it, the prop seems really small for the boat, and was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a prop size.

Thanks!

Try 10 1/8 X 15.

I would focus on what the manufacturer's recommended Max. RPM Range for the motor at full throttle. Then see where you're actually running at, at Wide Open Throttle (WOT).

Manufacturer Max. RPM > Actual WOT RPM = Overpropped

Manufacturer Max. RPM < Actual WOT RPM = Underpropped

This is, of course, assuming that there are not other variables affecting performance, such as :

dirty hull/growth on bottom
spun hub
engine is running clean (timing, compression, carb., etc)
boat isn't overweighted

These are just general rules of thumb to go by. Are you having specific problems?

Max WOT should be 5500 RPM.

10 1/8 X 15 was the OEM prop for this boat.
