Default Mercathode mounting

Anyone have a picture of a factory installed Mercathode unit for a 7.4L. I'm pretty sure this is not the proper location (or wiring)

(The boat is a 93 2200SR. I believe someone changed out the Alpha/5.7 to the 7.4L/Bravo.) Yes the Carb is NOT the correct one. It belongs to a Corvette. Have the proper Webber/Merc coming. The engine may be a Corvette as well. Who knows?

Well, I can' imagine any good will come of that cable sheathing sitting right on the riser. That is going to get hot.

I can see there is a wire loom with wires already routing to the mercathode. It looks like it routes back behind the engine. I would expect the wire shoudl follow that path. It is too short, is that what the problem was? Or is that it coiled loosely down on the right?

I really appreciate your comment and yes that wire will go, however, I am speaking the actual mounting location of the Mercathode module.
On the other Merc 5.7's, I worked on, the module is mounted on the top of the main circuit breaker above the fuel water seperator. But this set up looks out of place.

I don't think the location of the mounting actually matters that much.
