Kelly...
welcome to the zoo..the 3000scr is a very nice boat..ride quality is going to be WAAAAY better than your 24....you'll be burning about 1 gal/mile from the twin v8's...I'm assuming your getting that engine...don't know what engine drive combo you have ...but v8's will yield about that kind of mileage....
post some pic's of the new boat....

Kelly,
From one coast to the other (I'm in Halifax). Late last summer I bought my 1st boat, a 1999 3000SCR. I had her in the water for a month to figure out the little items I would have to fix over the winter. She is now sitting in my yard with easy access. I spent almost 30 years in the Navy on the engineering side so do most of the maintenance myself. The guys on here have been very helpful already. I'm sure once I start crawling around fixing things you will probably hear from me again. Right now it's a little cold (-17C) to be working onboard. Please feel free to contact me through my email if you want.

Jacques

Default 3000 SCR

Hello Kelly,

Well how does it handle in rough seas you ask? Well I had mine out in the Straight of Georgia when I probably should not have. She handled it well even though we were tossed all about. The kids were in the front berth laying down and being thrown up to the ceiling, they enjoyed it more than the adults did.

I have the 5.7 v-8's 260 hps and they do like the gas but have never really checked the usage. Next trip out I will and will let you know.

I bought the boat new in 2001, it was a 2000 model special order that fell through. Feel free to ask questions.

It is a great boat, great size and handles like a dream.... except where it should not be

Regards,
Gary

Dodgezilla04,

Welcome to the Site!! Unfortunately, this thread was started on 01-08-2009 and is a little over 2.5 years old. The last post was 01-25-2009. The Original Poster (OP) was 'Kelly" who's Last Activity (last logon/post) was 01-24-2009. Hardship (Gary) last posted logged on and posted on 01-01-2010 .

This one is probably dead, so don't get your hopes up that there will be much feedback. However, there are many active topics out there. We look forward to hearing more from you. It looks like you joined quite some time ago, so feel free to keep jumping in.

Best Regards
