Kelly
welcome to the zoo....nice to know where your from and what kind of boating your thinking of..

the 4.3's in that big a boat would surely be underpowered....
in any boat your looking at..mpi engines are much more preferable due to the preciseness of the throttle and fuel delivery....
but as with anything you want..the more pwr the better..especially in the better....so...if you can get one with 5.7mpi engines..well..that's ideal.....

so...even with the 30 ftr...twin 5.0mpi engines would be minimum in my opinion for that heavy of a boat.....definitely twin 5.7's would be better...but twin big blocks would make that sucker fly....of course you'd hear little birds get sucked out of the sky .....haha..

MPI for sure.. Having a carbed engine is ok, but to do it over... I'd find something bigger with fuel injection. I couldnt imagine having twin big blocks! Well, ok I could imagine it... but thats about all..

Hey there....

I have a 2000 3000 SCR and love it. I wish the beam were a bit wider but with the 5.7 EFI's on her she flies nicely above the water. The extra power is nice, especially when trying to get out of town and on the hook before others. I can leave Anacortes and be up at Sucia close to an hour and then relax the weekend away. My two cents worth.
