Default Market rate for mechanic?

Hi - what is the going market rate for a mechanic on gas engine (Mercruiser) in CA? I’m getting charged $125/hr. Is that in line with what others pay?

Thanks

Varies depending on the area you are in. In my area it can vary from $100 to $150 per hour depending on how close you are to Annapolis.

Good afternoon all.
Though I am farther North I think that is vary close to what we would pay here.
I have done most of all the work on my boat in the past, but health issues are causing me to rethink things and have to pay someone to do the work.

$125 is pretty standard in this area. I've heard as high as $150 at some full-service marinas.

There's an hourly number in there whether they put it in as a line item or not. Though I'm surprised you don't have separate lines for parts and labor on your invoice.
