Default Gas filler hose replacement

I am new to this forum and this novice has received such good answers from you experienced boat owners, I hope you do not get discouraged by my elementary questions. I am just wanting to make sure my restoration goes with as much experience as I can learn for you. My question is as fallows:
To replace my starter, I removed the fuel hose from my fuel tank filler outside my boat going down beside my starter motor to my gas tank. I have never seen a hose like this. It is rubber inside, then wrapped with steel mesh, them wrapped outside with a layer of stiff wrapping. Do anyone know where I might purchase a new one and what it is called ?
I cut mine to remove starter easier.
The writing on the hose says:
AMH #312 Fuel Fill USOG Type A hose 1984, the length is approx 4.6 feet and inside diameter looks about 1 ½ inches.
Thanks for your help
Steve, GA

This looks like it might be old fuel line. Marine Fuel line uses the following labelling convention:

<Burn_Rating><Use>-<Permeation_Rate>

Burn Rate:

A: Certified to withstand burning for 2.5 min. Suitable for use below decks

B: Not burn certified. Suitable for use above deck only.

Use:

1: Supply Line

2: Fill and Vent Lines only (no standing fuel)

Permeation Rate:

# of grams of permeation over 24 hrs.

EXAMPLE:

A1-10: Suitable below deck as a supply line with a permeation rate of 10 grams over 24 hours.
B2: Suitable above deck as a fill or vent line.

So, if this were a below deck filler hose you could use one of the following:

A1
A1-10
A1-15
A2

(I don't think A2 and B2 hoses have permeation rates since there wouldn't be standing fuel in them. In fact, not all fuel lines have the permeation rate printed on them.

Marine fill hose can be found at West Marine, other boat supply houses and Amazon. It used to cost about $10 per foot. I would also replace the fuel supply hose that goes from the fuel tank to fuel filter/ pump.
