Default FWC Anode

One more question from me this week...
I have a 2100SD 5.0mpi Alpha.....
It has a Fresh Water Cooling system on it. I see references to replacing the Anodes in the Fresh water cooling system.

Where are the Anodes in that system?? I don't see anything obvious and haven't been able to find anything on the internet about them

This is the beginning of my 3rd season with the boat, and it didn't have the best maintenance before I got it... so I am thinking I need to do this... but can't figure out what I need to do :-)

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Rocky

There should be a anode on the heat exchanger. Look for a brass plug, remove it and it has an anode attached.

Thanks, Mike.
Ok. On the end of my heat exchanger, in the center, is a plug. It is painted black... But might be brass. That must be it.

If it is, I assume it is in the seawater side of the heat exchanger and above the waterline, so there should be no problem removing it to take it the boat store to get a new one, correct?

Thanks,

Rocky

If it's in the center of the end cap it may be the bolt that holds the end cap on.
I would expect it to be on the side of the HE near the raw water inlet.

Is it a factory or aftermarket system?

I believe it to be factory. I will look again when I am at the boat on Friday.
Thank you!
