Default Exhaust issues!

Hey Y'all,
The flexable exhaust tube going thru the lower unit is rotted in half. Can I test drive the boat with tube broken and not hurt it?

Scott, Shouldn't do you any harm, but I would question the condition of the outdrive bellows if that one rotted through. Before you splash the boat look really really hard at all your bellows. Those can mean a really bit hole to fill your boat with water.

Maybe I'm not seeing this correctly in my mind but is the rotted flexable tube on the inside of the boat or on the outside?

If inside all the water from the exhaust will fill the bilge (engine compartment) in short order.

Check out: http://www.sterndrive.info/mercruise...g_drawing.html

If these bellows have cracks or holes DO NOT LAUNCH!!!! Get them fixed. I saw a boat go to the bottom off a launch because the guy didn't check his outdrive bellows and it filled with water very quickly.
