Default Excessive oil useage

I have a carberated 5.0L mercruiser. Engine was just overhauled. New pistons, rings, bored , and new heads. It now used 7 qts of oil in 52 hrs of running. I noticed an oil slick when starting and after stering in to dock. Engine used little to no oil before overhaul.
What are the possible causes for excessive oil consumption ?

if the engine is running smooth, then its not your rings.

If your not getting oil in your blige, its not a leaking main seal.

If your not seeing white smoke, or smell an odor, then your not burning it.

if your see oil an oil slick, the only way the engine oil can get out of the boat to the sea, is through the oil cooler.

the raw water runs the heat exchange which is a foot long tube below the oil filter on the front of then engine.

Your engine pushes 80lbs oil pressure thru it and it could be leaking into your raw water cooling tube.

oil cooler is about $100.

Take off your oil filler cap, and look underside of it and see if its got white milky foam.

also, check your dip stick for the same.

It could be a bunch if things TO. The rings not sealing well, valve guides too loose or bad/missing valve seals, perhaps the intake manifold isn't sealed well. You might consider pulling the spark plugs and having a look at them.
