Well boys here's the update on the misfire problem. As I said she seemed to sort herself out last weekend. The mechanic took her out on Wednesday. He said he could feel a small misfire at lower revs but she ran fine apart from that. He took her back in, took off all leads, spark plugs etc. and sprayed with a solvent he uses. He also took off distributer and cleaned out (he said there was a wee bit of gunk in there but nothing major) He also changed the battery connectors on the new house battery which was recently installed as they weren't the heavy duty ones. he took her back out and she ran perfect. I was out in her myself on sat/sun and I'm very happy to say she ran great! So looks like the issue has gone.... I'm now convinced that it must have been a bad electrical connection somewhere.
All that it cost me was £60 (approx. $80) for his time.
Fingers crossed we can now get thru the season with no other problems.
Thanks to everyone on here who took the time to offer advice, it is very much appreciated!
Cheers,
Ernie
