Default Electrical

2000 2800 scr twin 4.3 liters, starboard engine is shot, to get port engine to run had to jump 12 volts to the positive side of coil, without 12 volts to the coil engine would only run when the starter was engaged, if you released the ignition switch to the on position it would cut off. Anyone know where to look for the fix on this? Any help is appreciated, thanks zeeya31

Potentially faulty ignition switch. Verify 12V on the “I” terminal when the key is in the run position.

Switched the starboard ignition switch to the port side, did the same thing. But I will check the terminal with test light thanks

Interesting as the start position should only deliver power to the slave soleniod on the yellow/red wire while the purple wire proves power to the ignition system when in the run position. Could the wires be crossed?
