Default Counter Rotating?? Which Engine?

o.k. so I took the props off both drives to clean / paint and prep for slipping the boat for the next 3 months. Now I don't know which prop goes on which drive? LH vs RH ?
From the reading I've done it looks like the Port side spins counter clockwise while viewing from the rear of boat?
2000 2800 with twin 4.3's
Any help here?

LH prop should be on the port side and RH prop on the starboard side

Default Rotation?

Thank you
I think I'm still going to run the motors, put them in gear and verify. Just to check, but thanks again

No problem, you have a 50/50 shot at it

What type drives? Also depends if your set up was to spin your propellers in or out. Depends on the hull and riding you want. Most spin in, this gives better control but some performance (meaning top speed of boat) is lost. Those that spin out have a little less control but can perform better.

Some drives have a stamp, single letter, somewhere on the drive. I have bravo 2's, the stamp is behind the propeller itself (prop needs to be removed) on the top of the circle, just above the spindle/shaft.

To my knowledge both of the engines should turn the same way. L-hand vs. R-hand is handled in the drive. I'm not sure what you mean by 'In', however the ports-side drive should spin counter-clockwise. The Stbd side drive should spin clockwise (when standing aft of the boat looking forward (looking at the transom).

Is it were reversed the prop-walk would be all wrong. I've never seen a twin set-up any other way.

Most dual engine boats have their propellers spin "out". If you are standing behind the boat, looking at the TOP of the props, if they spin OUT towards the side, this is what is called spin out. So the port spins counter-clockwise, and the starboard spins clockwise.

But not all boats are set up this way. My prior boat, SeaRay 270 with twin 5.7 Mercs and Bravo I, did not. They spinned in.

I *hear* spin in produces more speed, less wake, and better ability to walk the both sideways. My Maxum 3200 with twin 5.7 and Bravo IIs spin OUT.

I second Jamanati in this.

Got a Maxum 2900SCR, and they both spin outward;

Port spins counter-clockwise
Starboard spins clockwise
