Base timing

Good afternoon all,
Does anyone know what the base timing is for a 1995 5.7 Merc it has the thunderbolt ignition, and is there a special process to set the timing.

8 degrees. If it's thunderbolt IV, nothing special. If it's V, there's a plug or wire you disconnect to set the distributor to no advance so you can time it.

Yep except a jumper to ground. Look it up in the manual which can be found on the Documents tab of this site.
