Default Alternator/water pump belt wear

Hi Guys

Mercruiser/GM 3.0 ltr

What would be the problem with the alternator/water pump belt failing prematurely, I seem to get through one per season.

Regards; John

Hi John, premature wear is typically from either rusty pulleys or misaligned pulleys. Could also be overnighting the belt.

Hi Mike

I think you may have a point: I'll check the condition of the pulleys
