Default alpha 1 problems ?

Just purchased a 2000 2300 SC . Love everything about this boat except what we discovered in the outdrive . gimbel bearing shot due to water , water in outdrive . Boat has only 280 hrs and was not used to often . trim switch not working , believe this is due to water at the connectors . Where can water find it's way in on this set up ? Any help would be appreciated . Keith

Welcome to the zoo...first off..the reason the water entered that the rubber o-ring failed somehow....with that said it could be the bellows also...so..here's what you need to do...the outdrive and gimbal has to come off....the bellows is replaced along with the bearing...new o-ring......check the u-joint and coupler for damage....replace as necessary.....(they're cheap enough to just go ahead and replace it).....
while the drive is off..then replace the impeller in the lower unit.....

or the easiest is to hire a good mechanic to do them...it takes a few hrs but it's best to know what your doing when you replace the bellows...it needs to be glued in...

keep us informed..

SP :hello:
