Default alarm sound on 2600se 2007 6.2 mpi

Hi guys,

I have a 2600 se 2007 maxum with a 6.2 mpi mercruiser and bravo 3.

My alarm sound when the engine is on and i put a little bit of gas (without putting it in gear),

and the alarm stops when i release the throttle.

Can anyone think of a reason why the alarm will sound in this case?

Thanks a lot,

Ori

Ori what sound does it make? The new systems make different sound pattern to code different fault.

However I cannot think of why it would sound by giving it throttle in neutral but stop at idle

How is the Oil Pressure when revving the engine in neutral?

hi guys,

the sound is a constant bip sound… (that stopped only when I returned the throttle back to idle state)
From what I remember the oil pressure gauge didn't show something wrong at the time (i don't remmember the exact reading..),
what should it be in neutral and what in gear?

They spec the oil pressure pretty wide range, should not be less than 10psi. Mine is around 30 - 40 depending on rpm.

Does the alarm bip when throttling up in gear? If not this may be a saftey warning as you should not run an engine at high rpms with no load.

Check oil levels in outdrive. Don't know why increasing throttle on engine would change but you never know.

It wouldn't. The Drive Lube level warning is not a constant tone.
