Default '89 2000 SC - Ignition Amplifier

I bought an '89 2000SC new back in '89. I moved to a bigger Sea Ray and left this boat at a friends in WV who is a boat mechanic... Long story short, it got flooded and I'm trying to restore it YEARS later. I've drained the oil, plugs, etc. etc.. and found out that someone along the line swiped my ignition amplifier. Yikes! The new model ignition amplifier is 15899T01. I saw one recently on Ebay that has very few numbers on it to match it up to the 15899T01 or the original number. All that is advertised w/ this ignition amplifier is that it's for a GM V8-Alpha One... Numbers on the part are "9HO4A V8-22A" Will this amplifier work on my maxum ? Any recommendations on a used one if it doesn't ? Phew,,, a new one is pushing $350-$400.

Thanks guys... Looking forward to getting the 'ole boat at least running this season, then I'll winterize it and restore over the winter here in Ohio....

Thanks
