Default 5.7 Alpha GenII Ignition Module

Hello All
I have recently had to replace the Ignition Control Module on my 5.7 Alpha Gen II Mercruiser. The Boat is a 2006 Maxum 2400 SC3. I perchased the boat new in 2006. This the third module that has been installed in the boat. I do not know what is taking them out. The first two were warrenty work the last was on my dime. So I tore the bad ICM apart to try and figure out what failed. I did find a failed Diode, leading me to beleive a surge took it out not heat like the techs have been telling me. On a side note my batteries went dead over the winter and I had to replace them. However before I replaced the batteries I jumped the boat w/ my truck to get the boat engine warm to drain the oil better/faster. This may be the surge that took it out.... maybe. Anyway I have Pics of the torn apart Module if anyone is interested.
Later
L.

L,

Don't know about anyone else but I'd like to see the photos. Can you post them here?

Thanks,

Dan
