Default 4.3 (carb) and intermittent alarm sounds

Have a 4.3-TKS (carb) that the alarm sounds intermittently for shorts blasts. Happening occasionally since new. Temp is good according to gauge (rises to 175 deg and holds there), oil pressure good according to gauge (about 70 psi when cruising; 60 when idling). Gear lube reservoir is topped right up.
Have tried to determine a particular pattern when it occurs. originally thought it might be lube sensor as was happening when taking off or slowing down (ie - changing pitch of boat). Added a little more gear lube and seemed to prevent for few rides, but came back. other day we cruised for 2 hours, and no alarm. stopped for 20 minutes. started again and after about 10 minutes a couple short blasts. thing is, it is never on constant. just one or couple short blasts -- sometime only 1/2 second, with longest being maybe 3 -4 sec. but without doing anything -- no change in throttle or anything -- it stops.

any ideas or suggestions, much appreciated.

drive oil level will make it squeal.

perhaps low, or oil pressure switch.

Those switches are $8 easy to switch out one by one.
