Default 3500 '03 gen not powering appliances

2003 3500 SY. 55 hrs on Kohler 5eBBU generator. Engines 100 hrs.
Just purchased from orig owner.

Generator runs but no power going to ac panel? All breakers off. Start generator. Flip on ship power. Flip on parallel. Flip on Air breaker and fridge. Neither work.

Read 5e manual tiday which says to check 10amp fuse?

Why are the shore power lights on? Is it plugged in?

Is "ships power" the generator switch?

I'm not familiar with 'parallel' ? I don't have a genny. What does it do?

When I took the picture, shore lines were plugged in so red lights on.

Breakers have sliders preventing shore power and ship power being on at the same time.

When in shore power mode, does the AC gauge work? Both line 1 and 2?

If so, it may be time to break out the voltmeter and start checking the output from the genny thru to the panel.

Back to the panel settings for genny use...
With all shore power off, and all accessory breakers off. After you start genny, and slide the lockout to switch to Ships Power, does the indicator on ships power light? Is there voltage showing on gauge for line 1?

If not, stop. That tells us the power from the genny isn't supplying power to the panel. Parallel switch is there for connecting line 1 power to line 2. (Hence the lockout slider on the line 2 shore power)

Have you first disconnected shore power? You said the shore power cables are still connected and that’s why the leds are on. The genny will not like this unless there is a disconnect.

Thanks for the replies. The AC circuit breaker was off at the generator. Sometimes it's the most obvious simple things.

Glad it was that easy.
