1998 3700scr transmission

Does anyone with this boat know what transmission and model # ? Stbd transmission won’t engage at all. mechanic thinks the fluid pump inside is gone. Transmission has been painted mechanic can’t get any # off it. Trying to get it repaired asap as the season is so short. Any info would be great help thank you!

Since it has to come out anyway, pull it and try to remove the part so the part number can be read. Is the mechanic going to rebuild it or send it out? If sending it out to a transmission place they should be able to determine the correct parts required as this is their business.

I wanted to get what model so I can purchase a new or rebuilt and swap it out at same time

Have you tried removing the paint?

Is the identification stamped in or on a tag?

Yes the mechanic has tried he can’t read tag that’s why I am asking if someone has the same boat so they can give me some info
