Default 1992 230scr needs new engine

I have a mercruiser 4.3 in my SCR; not sure of the HP (155 ?) and want to get a remanufactured or rebuilt engine

1) Which is recommended ?

2) Any known good dealers ?

3) Is there more than one HP range in the 4.3 Mercruiser ???

My 1996 Bayliner 1850 capri bowrider (1st boat, owned from 2000-2005) had a 180hp 4.3LX on an alpha drive. Had a 4 bbl carb on it. That was a good package, very efficient in that small boat if you stayed out of the secondaries. Later model 4.3 mercs with the multi port fuel injection went to 220HP.
