Going back to your original post you say everything works, what is everything?

I have to ask is the battery switch turned on?

Ok so that indicates the battery switch is on but the issue could be at the engine breaker which supplies helm power. The breaker has two terminals one is power in and the other power out to the helm. Verify 12V is present on both terminals.

So it’s turning over now. Come to find out the tab on the fuse panel where the wire plugs in does not have power to it. What a head ach. Now the distributor cap is junk so I ordered a tune up kit. Thanks for your input.

How did you fix the fuse panel issue? These are cheap units and know for corrosion issues.

I moved the fuse and wire to an unused spot on the panel. I am in the procces of looking for a new fuse panel. Shopped around locally with no luck, but I have some other places I can look online.

I recommend spending the money for Blue Sea systems panel.

I am giving up for a couple days. I need to re energize. I replaced the coil, distributer cap, points, plug wires, and solenoid. All I can say is that I have around 1 volt going into the cap and nothing coming out into the pug wires. That’s exactly what it was doing with the old stuff. On the bright side I installed a new CD player, and got a new boat cover.

How are you measuring Voltage into the cap? This is high voltage ~100,000 volts and requires a high voltage probe.
