Default Where is my emergency shutdown switch?

Hello. I have a 97 Maxum 1900 xr. I've lost all power to the engine and trim motor. My wiring diagram notes an "emergency shutdown switch". Can anyone help me to locate this switch? Thanks, Jim.

Welcome aboard

The switch is located under the throttle handle, red that a lanyard attaches to.

The kill switch should not impact the trim motors operation. You have a different issue. Do the gauges cycle when you turn the key on? Does the blower work?

Is ALL 12v offline? How about lighting? No starter and no trim pump could be:

-> Battery switch OFF
-> A dead battery
-> Bad 12v connection at the terminal or switch.

In addition to shrew's list, problem could be blown starter fuse or popped circuit breaker (big red one on top of engine).

Trim actuators are not tied to the starter fuse. The starter would turn the engine over but never start the engine if the emergency shutdown were engaged. A dead solenoid would have an audible 'click' if its circuit were closed.

This sounds like a 12V issue. Two disassociated 12v systems both being offline at the same time would have me starting at the source and moving out from there.
