Default Speedo and Tach

After reading posts, I did check the small hole on lower part of outdrive. It for sure appeared plugged with debris. I will have to wait to get on the water to test if speedo now works as I do not have a way of creating pressure sufficient to test.

Here is my question. The tach stopped working at the same time. I have checked all fuses. Does the tach work in conjunction with the speedo? Coincidence that they both stopped working together or does the water pressure coming through that hole effect both?

The tach is a separate issue.

Clean the connection on it, measure to verify it get 12V on the power terminal and the ground is good. The gray wire comes from the coil and provides the pulses the tach uses to display rpm.

After all that replace the tach.

Thank you for the quick response. When it drops down below 102 degrees and sound drops, I will get in under the cover and take a look.
