Default Speed and trim gauges

Any suggestions: I have a Maxum 17XR, the speed and tilt gauges are out, I threw a multimeter on the speed gauge on it, and its getting power, I was wondering if I should replace the hose (it looks original) or put some canned air through it to clean it out?

As for my trim gauge its stuck in the up position, well above the numbers?

any help would be great.

Thanks MJ

look on the leading edge of your outdrive...about 6" up from the bullet gear box there is a small hole...take a small wire or 1/4" drill and by hand...turn it into the hole to clear it out...if that doesn't work then the lower unit needs to come off and clean out that whole cavity...

SP,
thanks alot for the help. It worked perfectly, the hole was just filled with sea sludge. Came right back as soon as I cleaned it out.
