Default Replacing Garmin GPS

I'm wanting to replace my 15 year old Garmin GPS with a new unit. How easy is it to identify the old wiring so that I can route the new wiring?

If all you have is the single Garmin unit there won’t be a NEMA buss so the wiring should just be positive and negative power which should be easy to trace back to where they are currently connected.

Many thanks for the reply. Do you think it would be acceptable to splice the 2 wires to the existing so as not having to fish the wires under the boat?

As long as you certain they have a good connection it shouldn’t be a issue, however I prefer to run the new wires all the way to the source.
