Default New depth gauge

Good evening all

My 2006 1900SR3 has a factory installed thru Hull depth sounder. I’d like to replace the terrible, hard to read digitital gauge with a more modern unit. I’ve seen several on “the line”, that could work out, but wanted to check first here to see if anyone has swapped these things out.

I’ve considered installing a hummingbird chart plotter, helix 6 or similar Garmin unit, but I do not want to install an external transducer on this ski boat.

My thoughts are to replace the visual gauge on the dash and then install a chart plotter later, using a thru Hull transducer

Patrick,

Did you figure something out on this? I have a 95 1800 SR2 with a lowrance 3500 that has erroneous readings and has a transom mounted transducer.

I would be interested in knowing what you decided to replace the oem round/in dash unit with.

Regards

No I didn’t change it out. Just decided to let it be. To be honest I’m hoping to use this boat this summer and then buy a Yamaha 252SD.
