Default Nav lights not working

HI, I just noticed that my NAV lights are not working. I have a 1992 Maxum 2300 SCR...love it. I took the housing apart and there was one bulb, which I replaced, but they are still not working....so what else to check? Wiring, Fuses? I am new to this, so trying to learn all about engines, electrical systems, etc. Any pointers inthe right direction would be most appreciated.

I am happy to be in the club, and love being out in my Maxum, especially for our beautiful British Columbia sunsets!! So I need to get these NAV lights working ASAP!

Thanks in advance for any help! Cheers, NautiLass

There is a fuse under the helm for the nav lights. Does you switches have lights in them? If so it should light up if the fuse is good.

If fuse is good use a volt meter to test the 12 V is getting to the switch and comes out when toggled on.

Hi Mike, Thanks! I replaced the fuses anyway, replaced the bulb, checked the switches (they have lights), but still no NAV lights. Took a voltmeter and checked the wires, but no voltage...kinda stumped, must be wiring. Sigh...

Some folks have had trouble with the fuse blocks going bad, verify voltage at the fuse block on each side if the fuse.

A few weeks ago had the same thing happen on my 2400 SCR. Front navigation red/green light would not turn on. Bulb was fine. Checked fuses and all OK. Turned out to be dirt and crud on the contact in the interior housing. Cleaned and all OK now.

Smile Na vlights not working

pProblem solved. Opened up the anchor compartment, and found that the last time I put away the rode, it must have pulled onthe wire and, reattcahed it and the lights came back on! Oh well, have all new fuses and a new light that I didn't need, but learned lots and it all works now! Thank you so much for the replies, they were very much appreciated!

Hi,
I'm Tim from Annapolis, Md. I am in desperate need of a instrument panel electrical schematic for a 1998 Maxum 3000SCR. If anyone can help, am having an issue with the 'NAV" , and 'INS" switches. Previous owner had some creative wiring and i am trying to correct it.
