Default lower unit fluid warning beeping

Ok well i have a 2003 Maxum, im not sure the model number exactly i will post later if needed. OK so heres the deal. I got my boat back from the yard in working order and a week later i go to start it up and it starts but it beeps twice every ten seconds or so. I look it up in the book and it says that the lower drive unit or something needs fluid. I check the resoviour and its full i also check the two trim tab containers, one is full but the other isnt. Im not sure if this would set off the alarm. I also dont no how to fill it. There isnt any obvious area to fill it. Any suggestions?
thankss

howdy and welcome to the zoo..for the drive unit...sometimes the sensor goes bad...that must be replaced if it's causing the beeping..the reservoir unit doesn't have a sensor...but...there should be a small plug that you can pry off.....then you fill with light oil or transmission fluid...if it's red it's trans. fluid...clear is light oil....which can be purchased at the boat stores...

its a 2700se how would i no if the sensor went bad or is it just a crap shoot. if the reservoir doesnt have a sensor why does the book say that the beeping is a result of no fluid. all the reservoirs are full besides the starboard trim tab. could this be the problem?

I have a 2700SCR....as far as I know....mine doesn't have a sensor in the trim drive reservoir...not may other boats have one either...you'd see a wire coming from the bottom of the tank of the reservoir on the trim drive or the outdrive trim drive......those are pretty simple...

there is a sensor at the bottom of the reservoir for the drive oil....sometimes they go bad.....it's not a big deal to replace them....

so ...you should have on your boat...3 sensors..over temp....low oil...drive oil....that's all...

hope this helps..

well..if the oil reservoir is full ...and it's still beeping ....then it might be the sensor....it's like a 20 dollar part...so ...shouldn't be a real big issue to replace......give it a try.....

i went down to the boat and the trim tab bottle was empty so i filled it up hoping that would solve the problem but no such luck. I dont think it the sensor because if u disconnect it the sensor cannot send the single to the computer to beep. any1 else have any suggestions? could their be air in the trim tabs and that be setting it off?

well..it's either the drive sensor...the oil pressure sensor...or overtemp sensor....that's it....there isn't any other sensor on your boat.....pull the temp sensor....if it stops...that's the one.....if not..replace and pull the oil sensor....if that's not it..you need to have a shop guy stick a computer on it to read the computer IF you have one...if not..then check to see if something is shorting out along the wiring....that's all it can be...

My boat did the exact same thing when we'd replaced the drive oil.

Few trims up and down and flicks in and out of gear solved it

I hear it pretty normal to get a false alarm when its just been re-filled.
