Default Guage Panel removal

I need to replace the tach on my 1999 1800 SR. from what I've read, there is a bracket holding the tach that screws into the back of the gauges panel, and the easiest way to access it is to remove the entire panel. I have attached a photo of the panel - I don't see how the panel itself is attached. Does it just pry loose from the dash cutout?

Its all on the back of the panel.. If its like my 1800SR, there are two butterfly bolts on a screw at the bottom, that you can twist with your thumb.. Then three at the top holding it in place..

Having said that you should be able to replace the guage without taking out the entire panel

Looking at the picture in post #2 you can see brackets with nuts holding the tach in. The tach is large one on the left.

At this point, you might want to stick your head back there and take a look at what is going on.

No, you can't just pry out the gauge. The gauge is screwed in from the back. If the gauge panel doesn't have screws on the front, then the panel also screws in from the back.

Take a close look at the image in post #2. You can see everything. And that is with teh panel in place. It looks like fester stuck a phone up there and snapped a pic. That is what I would do to start.
