I have 3 gps's....raymarine that is built in...can't remember the model number..
a garmin 176c color model...
and a Magellan maps 410...it's grey scale and pretty accurate...

the raymarine is connected to the vhf so if I hit the dsc button...they come where ever I am....courteousy of the US Coasties...

I am looking at the Garmin 430x because I have XM radio on the boat already and I can get weather and radar weather with my XM subscription. I figure radar weather can extend my time on the water on those questionable days. Obviously you would not stray as far from the dock.

I have the 430 and love it. Great value. Had it on my old 2300 and now my 2700.

Have not used the XM feature. I'm a Sirius guy and our cell coverage is good on Cumberland so real-time radar on cell phone is great.

Cumberland... Awesome lake there! We've spent time there and Rough River area.

Are Sirius and XM the same company now? How does that work with subscriptions?

I know the equipment is different. I just need to find out if the accounts are linked.
