Default Gps mounting options

Hi all, so I have a 2000 2300sc... my wife got me a lowrance hook-4x for me for Christmas, gps and depth finder/sonar all in one. It came with updated maps etc....

So my question is: where did you guys mount your set ups? It seems to block gauges or compass or just look ...meh.., anywhere I decide to place it... before I drill holes to mount it and for the cables was hoping for some input, or ideas where others have found works best...

On my 2400 SCR I mounted mine on a RAM on the starboard side of the helm.
