Default Engine hatch lift 3700 SCR

I have the manual lift, but grabbing the small bolt, and yanking is wearing my arm out.

Does anyone have the hydraulic lift system, or can give me part numbers. price to retrofit one?

I have the same issue. I'll start looking around too. Please let me know if you found anything.

Thank you

I just came up with an idea. I see some minivans with automatic door, and hatchback closers. The cylinders are the same size.

Hatch lifting systems are fairly common. Bennett makes one. Reinventing the wheel would be a monumental waste of time. I wouldn't bother trying to jury rig something with a device that wasn't intended for that purpose.

Paying several thousand for the convenience of not having to yank my arm off is exactly what I was trying to avoid.

I used to work for a place that bought cylinders, we bought them in bulk, but paid about $100 per cylinder, (remember these are a steel tube, a steel rod + some O-rings).

It only cost $250 to replace a hydraulic pump for an outboard lifter. The CHEAPEST hatch lifter I've found so far is $2,200.00.

I would rather jury rig something. A hatch isn't a rocket.

Part# HL2000181/Retrofit Kit - 18" Dual Cylinder Simultaneous Movement - $424.51 West marine

This is getting better. $400 is going to be hard to beat even with jury rigging.

Nothing for nothing Capn_Bill, but Nowhere in your original post did you mention that cost was a significant factor in your project. Simply look at the original post and you'll see that your criteria was not clear. You posted about designing a solution and it was simply pointed out that the solution is already available.
