Default DVD player replacement

We are starting to have problems with the DVD player on our boat. It's freezing, skipping etc every so often on just about every DVD, even brand new ones. A little web research suggests that this is a common problem with the model I have, the KEC DVD-2. So, I'd like to replace it.

Apparently this model is discontinued and not available, and maybe even the brand no longer exists.

Most units made for cars are physically bigger. This unit is only 6.9" x 7" x 2", which is smaller than a standard single DIN. I don't have room for anything bigger.

Has anyone had to replace a unit like this? Any suggestions for a good replacement?

Thanks Shrew, they have a model that fits, a little pricey though.

I'm thinking about an alternative where I just provide audio and composite video ports to the screen, and hook up a laptop or something portable that can play the DVDs.
