Default Digital gauge

Hello everyone new to this forum and a happy new owner of a 2001 1900 Maxum boat. Purchased a few weeks ago and so far so good. There a few things here and there I’m tryin to fix maybe someone on here can give me some direction. The digital gauge which I believe is a water depth gauge just blinks, I noticed the other evening whole working on it at night in my drive way it’s actually red. I’d like to either replace the gauge possibly fix the current one. Thanks in advance. See pic

Depth gauges will not work through air. Boat must be in the water. Make sense?

Sorry, I read that you were working on it in your driveway, and know for a fact that a depth gauge only works when under water. The sender must be immersed.

Any idea what the make of it is?

Typically this indicates a bad transducer.

Not sure about the digital depth finder but all the gauges are (see pic) made by Faria
