Default Depth finder error code 2001 23ft Maxum (open bow)

hi,
I just recently boat a used 23ft maxum...boat is running great but recently an alarm went off and on depth finder, it is registering SAL. When I start the boat the alarm stays on and the display states SAL. I do not have the owners manual so if anybody knows what this error is or what I need to do to fix I would greatly apprecatiate.

Default sal

well..what you have is the shallow alarm going off....hence the error code...s.a.l......to fix this is to press and hold the down button and the depth will start changing...it's probably set to about 6-10 ft......
you'll probably also find that the deep water alarm is set too deep too...you can change that the same way....the sal will also go off with thermal layers or even fish will set it off.....welcome to the zoo...where do you boat at??....

Default thank you

Thank you very much. I will change the setting this weekend. I'm so glad it's something as simple as that!
