Default Dead RayData

I am a novice.

My RayData unit is dead. It had no display when I bought the boat but it transmitted data to the other components. It died completely towards the end of the season. My plan was to buy another one over the winter, but I haven't seen any.

I never go anywhere new without plotting a course in Navionics.

The only unknown is actual depth. Is it naive or even reckless to think I can ride it out until one becomes available?

Thanks.

Do you typically go into shallow areas? If not you’ll be fine. See what others are doing and get a paper chart to have the general feel.

I do not intentionally go into anything Navionics shows as less than 5'. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't being irresponsible.

Raydata is incredibly old. You can't even find a unit on eBay.

Now my Raytheon R21 radar display has failed as well.

Every few seconds the display looks like a screen from The Matrix except it scrolls up instead of down.

The panel where it is located is a little small. What are people replacing it with?
