Default 94 2400 SCR Battery Switch relocation

Currently the Battery switch is located on the forward bulk head in the eng compartment, very inconvenient when you have guest onboard to have to switch btwn battery 1, 2 or both. I would like to relocate the Battery switch to the closet on the port side just inside the cabin entrance. Has anybody done this?

knowing the 2400 scr, why not relocate it somewhere on top. somewhere on the aft or in the little storage room.
relocating it in the closet doesn't sound very conveniant. ( locked the cabin)

Seems like a fairly long cable run Todd, you'll need fat cables. Is there no where close to the engine compartment that you can mount the switch externally so you don't need to open anything but still out of the way of knees/legs/feets?

I've been looking at a simliar setup. I also agree that seems like a long run. I am looking at a water tight compartment. I'm considering cutting a hole just under my radar arch, and back a bit. This will be on the port side, which is the same side as my batteries. The cable run would be straight up. Install the switch inside of the compartment, and now I can access it from the cockpit without have to move a cooler, lift a hatch and step down to flip the switch.

Todd, I need to run down to my boat tomorrow to pull out the batteries and secure the cover for winter. I'll take a few picks of my battery switch location if I can manage to remember.

Here ya go. As you can see it is set back just under the rear port bench cushion (which is removable) and the connections are accessible from inside the engine compartment. I chose this location for several reasons; The original cables to the origninal single battery location (I also moved the batteries) were already long enough to reach the back of the switch, the cable run is short, and the location is out of the way yet still accessible without having to open anything. At the worst I may have to ask someone to move their legs for a second.
