Default 2100SD Connection to battery

Hi there, I am new to this boat ownership thing.

When I disconnected everything last winter I must have disconnected a thick black cable (looks like a second ground cable) that has a yellow piece of tape near the end of the cable that connects to the battery. The other end of the cable runs to a wiring bar on the engine compartmnet bulkhead (on the transom) on the starboard side abaft the battery.

I am not sure which battery terminal it should connect to does anyone know?

Thanks.

It goes to the negative terminal. Yellow is the new standard for ground on boats as folks confused black with house wiring which is hot so folks were connecting it to the positive terminal resulting in damage.

OK, thanks for that. I guess I dodged a bullet there then. I had difficulty finding something that showed which terminal that wire was supposed to connect to. Having a forum like this where people are able to share their knowledge is great.

Thanks again Mike,

Tom.

Hi Tom:
We should connect, I also have a 2100SD that I bought last year. It's been a great experience with the exception of recent trim issue.
We could likely learn much from one another (winterizing, tuning, etc, etc).

Happy boating!
