2100 SD Helm Switches - Rubber Membrane Style

Hello,
Newbie here! I just purchased a 2001 Maxum (obviously) 2100 SD. I love the boat!! Can't say enough good things about it. But there is one thing that I'd like to improve and that is the push buttons that control everything at the helm. They still work fine, but they are pretty sun-faded, and I'm worried about impending failure. I am also a chronic perfectionist and I would just like to replace them. Dealers have checked for me, and I've been on Maxum's customer care page and got the part number for the whole panel. $475 for a new one, which I am even willing to pay, but they don't seem to be available anywhere. Any help from fellow Maxum owners?

At the time I joined I had two Maxums, a 1999 1900SR which I had for about 5 years and the 2100SD that I just bought. Since then, I have sold the 1900. My friend also has a 2700 SCR. I am just not ready for that much boat yet. We live in Ohio and I'm about 20 min. from a really nice, no speed limit lake (Pleasant Hill Lake) and Lake Erie (where he keeps his SCR) is about an hour and a half away. That is a big time commitment, especially with my 3 year old daughter. Here's some pics of the three different boats.

Here's a pic of the swiches. I know they don't look that bad, but new ones look much nicer and again, I am concerned these will let me down one day.

I have the same dashboard and mine is not working properly anymore. I cannot switch the boat off After starting. I see this thread went dead a while back. Please help we need the parts. Desperate in South Africa with my Maxum 2100 SD

The OP has not posted for about a year now so I doubt he will respond. Best I can tell you is to try Great Lakes Skipper as they bought up left over stock of parts. Others have issues with this set up try searching in either the electronics thread or the small boats 17 - 21 foot threads. From what I recall no one posted a solution. For now you can switch the safety switch (lanyard) to off to kill the engine. In the past I studied the wiring diagram and I think there is a way to install a standard key ignition switch as a worst case fix.

Thanks for the reply, I have just posted on another thread and to keep my sanity changed my 2100 SD to analogue setup with Faria gauges. Thankfully Mercruiser make an adapter for the 14 pin plug on my 350 motor, so was able to fit the standard mercruiser harness and new switch panel for ancillary switches. Will send you pic's once done as I was able to modify the same dashpanel to accommodate the new gauges so looks factory. I dont recommend to anyone who has this issue to try and fix that Siemens /VDO setup, it will do your head in. TOTAL COST in SOUTH AFRICA including labour was $ 2300.00 and considering everything was imported from the US should be cheaper there. Carl

The guy told me that he had a switch put in because his boat wouldn't start . He told me he couldn't get the computer no more because they don't make it. The funny thing is it worked when I was there . The good thing it has that switch just in case it doesn't . I paid 9500 with a trailer . I bought it because I thought it was a good deal ? Has somewhere and tear need some TLC
