2000 7.4L MPI Merc Eng Data

I have a 2000 2800 SCR 7.4L MPI Merc & I want to pull up my engine & fuel data on my Lowrance HDS-5. The information on how to do this online is so vague. I'm sure I need some sort of interface between my unit & the engine cpu but can't find anything online. Has anyone done this or can anyone point me in the right direction?

This is going to be done through a SmartCraft Gateway. They make a Smartcraft to NMEA 2000 gateway which is what I suspect your device will listen on.

I've read about the SmartCraft Gateway but the information out there says they didn't start SmartCraft on the I/O's until 2001. I'm going to call my Mercruiser dealer tomorrow to see what they say.
