Default Shopping Maxums

Howdy,
Been lurking for a while. I have had a few different boats from a fantastic 22ft Lund built right for fishing, to my 22FT C-Dory cabin cruiser and now the fiance and I are looking at a 1996 SCR2400.

Unfortunately (or fortunately??) The CoronaVirus issue has hit right as we were to go look at the boat we think we will buy. We are in the Seattle area and are essentially on lock down at the moment..

which gives us a lot of time to research!

As much as I love fishing, my best memories on my C-Dory were the long cruises so we are looking to use this boat for 250 mile trips up around the San Juan islands and back.

I'm also a forum junky, so if there is activity here on these boards, and we get the boat... you can bet we'll be active participants.

Cheers!

Welcome aboard!

I have a 1997 2400 SCR but mainly use it for day cruising. I have fished off the back with no real issues. The main reason I got this model was for the enclosed head for my girls who won’t use a potty. IMO the forward birth is useless as a birth but the midcabin works well. If you plan to do a lot of overnights you may want to look at the 2700 for the larger cabin and better forward birth.

I think most of our long cruises and overnights will be just us two as 3 of our 4 kids are now adult aged and headed to college this fall. But my situation is similar to yours, the enclosed head was sorta the make or break lol.

Most of our trips I assume will be the Admiral, myself, and our German Shepard, but she and I both love the cockpit on this boat for those warm summer days entertaining a couple friends as well.

What i do love about this particular boat is the previous owner has made multiple trips from the Puget Sound to Alaska on it, and built it around that.

I'm excited to get back on a boat, sold my C-Dory back in 2015 and life is finally settled in enough to get on the water again!
