Hi guys, just want to intro myself, I bought my first maxum, an 1800sr brand new in 2000. We used it for the first couple of years but then in 2002 my family took over. I am only getting back into the boating scene now cause my eldest is ready to get up on some skis, so wish us luck! I'd say the boat has only about 50 hours total on it but unfortunately the block's cracked so I need to get that sorted first. I'll keep in touch. Cheers.

Hello, I'm Larry. My wife and I have two Maxums, a 2006 2400 SC3 with a 350 Mag/B3 and a 1996 3200 SCR w/ twin 350/B2s. Love using them both on the Chain O'Lakes in Northern Illinois.
FYI - I may be a smart-ass, but the user name is true. I'm the DD who gets to herd the drunken monkeys back into the boat at the end of the evening

Welcome to the zoo.
the slow speed wander is called bow wander.....it's simply the fact that the stern is trying to push the bow out of the way....just put the drive all the way down...trim tabs down if you have them and make small corrections as the bow starts to move one way or the other...

Welcome aboard Larry. My wife and I also have a 2400 SC3 with the same engine drive - a 2004 model. Great boat!

Thanks Dan and SP. It's always fun to see someone else with your model boat, but slightly different.
We have a couple people drooling over the 2400 SC3 asking for first shot should we decide to sell. It's a shame they are no longer in production.

It is a good boat Larry, I'm surprised we don't see more of them around. In the 4 years we've had ours we've seen only one other.
Yours looks great with the red trim.

Hi all,
I got my first Maxum yesterday, I bought it here in Ireland but it was originally imported from NY in 2005. Its a 1995 2300SC with a 5.7l Alpha 1. The boat was parked up outdoors for the last 3 years so its in need of a lot of TLC and the engine is currently a non-starter but I have faith in my mechanic. Now to be fair I got it really cheap as it needs LOADS of work so I am expecting to be asking a lot of questions on here.

Hello all, I purchased our first "big boat" about a month ago. We have owned SeaRay bow riders 23 to 25 footers for the past 25 years. When we decided to upgrade in size we wanted to stay with SeaRay. And then we found a 2001 maxum 3700scr. Less than 500 hours. Literally owned by an elderly couple who took it out on Sundays since they purchased it new. I visit this site almost daily as now that the boat is getting used a lot more little things start to break or I just don't know how some aspect of the boat works. We absolutely love the boat. The design and layout so much nicer than the searays. quality just as god too. I'm now a big maxum fan!
Making my site donation tonight. Thanks for being so helpful!

Hello all. I just purchased a 1997 2000 SRL with the merc 3.0. Great hull and interior, but needs a little TLC to the engine. I am serving in the US Navy here in Norfolk, VA so there is plenty of water around to play in.

Congrats! Please let me know how the boat works out for you. We'll probably be putting our 3200 SCR on Lake Michigan next season and I'm already getting 5 foot-itis.
