Default New to boating/new owner

Hello all,

I'm completely new to boating, just purchased a 2001 Maxum 2300SR. Never owned a boat before, a lot of new info to absorb.

Boat is work in progress, will have a bunch of questions and will share my adventures with it.

Thank you all,
Arnas

Welcome aboard newbie !

You have fun road ahead of you interrupted by moments of sheer panic and confusion. Lol !

I suggest you and family take a safe boating course before the season starts. It will help immensely and usually it will get you a discount on your boat insurance.

Find a friend with boating experience for a mentor. U tube has lots of boating videos from how to to explaining rules of the road.

Good luck

Roger

Welcome aboard!

I agree with Roger; take a safe boating class. Also take a weekday off when there isn’t many folks on the water and practice maneuvering especially docking and trailer loading if you will be using one. This will mitigate stress when other boats are around you.
