I have been looking for a small boat for a few years now without any real luck. Being a first time boat owner, a COMPLETE noob, I didn't want to buy an old torn up abused boat, then have to dump a mess of time and coinage into it to get to ground zero. Seems just about everything is in fantastic condition and demanding the same fantastic money, OR, abused mis treated or just worn out old. Last week, I found what I was looking for. A little 1996 Maxum 1750 bow rider with the 3.0 mercruiser. It was bought new, used a few seasons, then a resulting divorce sent it into dry storage for years. It was transferred to a marina to be checked out and made right, then sold to the second owner 2 moths ago. He was hit with a sudden relocation, had to sell, I hit him with a cash offer, and it's mine. I gave it as good a going over as I knew how, and had him take me out to the lake for a 40 minute run. It ran flawlessly, and everything worked as it should. It also came with the entire original sales package, including every receipt for work done, and the manuals. I live on the CT river, and the launch is about 3 minutes from my home, so I'm looking forward to learning how to use my new boat, and taking some nice fall foliage cruises before it's time to put it away. I joined the site right after buying the boat, and have been pouring through the various threads, learning a great deal from the very knowledgable members here. It's already been a big help in understanding how things work, and I'm looking forward to learning more.
