Default New Member,New Boat- Plenty of questions

Hi Guys, nice to be here. I just recently bought a 1989 Maxum 23' cuddy from a bank repo. All is good with it( i hope) except the steering cable needs replaced, new carb, one manifold has minor crack, and normal wear and tear. I paid $1200, i believe that is a great deal, is it? Second can someone provide some specs(gas tank size, mpg, speed, etc) it came with nothing. What kind of truck am i going to need to pull this thing? Thanks in advance

welcome to the zoo matt.

the 2300 is about 5k lbs dry....so your probably looking at about 5500lbs loaded or wet...1200 is not bad as long as it's in decent shape...
the steering cable...are you sure it's a mechanical cable??...check to see if you have a pwr steering pump on the front of the engine...if not then possibly the cable is bad...what they do is basically tape the new one to the old on..and ull it thru......
the manifolds are fairly easy to replace...might wanna get a maintenance manual for it.....to get an owners manual...call USMarine at 360-435-5571 ..have your HIN number handy and they can answer anything you need on your new toy......
Tankage size is probably close to 50 gals....speed should top out at about 42mph...WOT is between 4200-4800rpm....

You'll probably need a trailer to tow it on too, along with the truck. Just kidding.

What manifold is cracked?
