Default New member looking at Maxum

Currently own Bayliner 2450 docked on Greers Ferrry Lake (we live less than 8 miles from lake) in Central Arkansas. Looking at Maxum 3200 SCR docked on same lake. What are your thoughts on the brand and this particular model. It is a 1998 with twin fuel injected 7.4 mercrusiers with the duo pro outdrive. The current owner has added an 11'x4' swimplatform!

Jim, if your serious about this boat, please plow thru lots of info on this site. I currently own a 1994 and love the boat. Would like to have the fuel injection and extended swim platform, but then I would have the perfect boat!!! Questions, ask away......jesse

What kind of fuel mileage/gallons per hour can I expect at cruise? What is top end speed on that model with the big gas burners?

They are asking 39K for the boat but bluebook suggests 29K-33K. Have any of you seen these boats for sale out there and what would be the realistic average retail?

Also will this boat have intracooling or raw water cooling? It is currently on a freshwater lake but we would likely carry it to the salt at some point.....

Welcome aboard, saw your post on BOC.

I would expect those engine will burn between 12 to 15 GPH each at cruising speed. Most likely they are raw water cooled however having been fresh water engines you could add closed cooling if you want. That will cost about $1K for each kit. I would look on yacht world to see pricing vs condition.
