Default Lifelong boater, now a Maxum owner....

The wife and I are in the process of purchasing a 2004 2400SE. We live in Jacksonville, Florida and have had numerous boats over the years. The most recent boat was a Proline 221 walkaround, but we are getting to the age where we value our creature comforts. The boat we are getting has a genset and AC. We are looking forward to doing some overnighting.

I do have to admit that I'm a little overwhelmed at the prospect of operating this boat. The electrical panel is quite intimidating, plus I've never owned a boat with a real head and fresh water system. I'm hoping I'll be able to get everything figured out.

Feet1st, I'm also in Jacksonville, and can be found around the landing or Metro Park Marina quite often. My boat's name is KJ's Retreat.

Will you be keeping the boat at home, or at a marina?

My boat is currently up on blocks awaiting some repairs, so I wasn't out this past weekend.

Feel free to ask any questions here, but if it works out and you need help, you got a fellow Maxum here in town.

Sounds like a good set of options on it. Nice to have those 2 features. I like that size too especially for a couple, really don't need much more and a bit more manageable for maintaining at a reasonable price. Having the oem manuals are a big help when getting started. If not on boat, many of us know where to point you for most. Enjoy!
